With Father’s Day coming up this Sunday (June 19), Slink Johnson and Soren Baker share stories of fatherhood in this week’s episode of The Grey Area.
Although parenting doesn’t come with a handbook, Slink and Soren agree that the main thing they wish for is to raise good children that make good decisions.
“My whole thing is telling my kids the truth bro,” Slink says with the intentions to tell it when the time is appropriate.
Soren takes a similar approach when raising his 6-year-old daughter.
“That’s something that I’ve been doing basically since she was born,” Soren says. “I just talk to her like she’s an adult and like I’ve had so many people over the years-she just turned six-I’ve had so many people over the years come to me like, ‘Man, how do you talk to her like that? Like she’s an adult?'”
Johnson also compares childhood moments between his son and himself when his son rode his skateboard an extremely long distance and a hilarious story of younger Slink setting fire to anything he could.
“I got my ass whooped four times in one day,” Slink recalls. “The principle whooped my ass. The teacher, the principle, my mama and when my daddy got home he tore up my ass.”
