In the most recent episode of Myths Exposed, Rittz explains why people call him White Jesus.
“I think that’s ’cause I was born with hair this long,” the Strange Music rapper says. “I came out of my mom’s vagina with this long of hair and a full beard.”
He says then analyzes the legitimacy of the claim and says that there is some reality to the legend.
“Truth be told, I’m not White Jesus,” he says. “I did come out of my mom’s vagina with hair this long and a full beard, but really it’s just a nickname.”
The moniker started when a friend called him White Jesus and joked about his long hair. Rittz then took the name on full force when he named his 2011 mixtape White Jesus.
“People had different opinions about it,” the Georgia rapper says, “what they thought if I was trying to be blasphemous or whatever. I think it helped me by standing out. I named it that to be my first mixtape, I’m like, ‘Yo, this might be my last if this doesn’t work out. So I want it to be something that’s going to strike people.'”
Rittz says that the name caught on and he enjoys giving people something to laugh about.
“At the end of the day, I like all kinds of people come up to me and call me White Jesus,” he says, “and you can tell they like to say it, too. ‘Yo, what’s up White Jesus?’ It’s just fun, so I’m rolling with it.”
