Stevie Stone Explains His Strange Music Role

Unique Access host Soren Baker sits down with Strange Music artist Stevie Stone. Soren opens up the conversation by asking Stone, “What impact do you think not being from Kansas City has had for you fitting into the label, and making the music that you make?”

“I’m about an hour and a half from Kansas City, but I think it’s more about my roots,” Stevie Stone explains. “I just got my own thang, you feel me? I got my own lane, so to speak. Some people think I’m more country… it has to do with my roots.”

Soren adds, “when you do your club music, or party music, it does have a different dimension in the sense that it’s a lot more aggressive and almost confrontational to a degree.”

“I got a different swang,” the Strange Music rapper chimes in. “[Krizz] Kaliko’s got a really deep voice too, but I think my voice is a little bit raspier. My tone is aggressive, I know when to calm it down.”

The Missouri artist finishes up the interview by stating how important it is to feed off crowd energy during shows. “I’d like to say like on the stage it’s like a volleyball match full of energy,” he reveals. “You give it to them, and they give it back.”
