As Tech N9ne grew from aspiring rapper to one of the most successful businessmen in rap history, he followed the lead of several major rapper-businessmen.
“I got to watch and listen to E-40 talk about getting his records in [Kansas City] record store 7th Heaven,” Tech N9ne says during an interview with Unique Access with Soren Baker. “He was running that. Travis – this was even before I knew Travis [O’Guin, my future partner in Strange Music] – he was watching Master P on his movement and how he put out so many albums with different artists and everything. So, with me peeping the game with E-40 and him peeping the game from No Limit, we come together and it makes a powerhouse because both of those labels are massive.”
Tech N9ne also details what he picked up from Steve Rifkind and recalls his studio session with Lil Wayne.
